Each day Co-County Wellness Services (CCWS) strives toward our vision: Optimal health for our evolving community by living our mission: to improve the public health through service, education and advocacy. Founded as a volunteer organization in 1985 and funded by the Department of Health in 1988, CCWS has evolved into a comprehensive HIV/AIDS service provider, offering a wide array of prevention programs in the community, care services for those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, and wellness programs to screen and treat STDs and to educate clients about medications and HIV-related issues. Currently, CCWS is serving as the support organization of a collective community impact program BERKS TEENS MATTER (BTM). The goal of BTM is to reduce teen pregnancy in Berks County by 40% by 2022.
OUR LOGO – THE APPLE & THE CANDLE
The symbol of Co-County Wellness Services represents our commitment to the health of our community. The apple is a symbol of preventative health care and a healthy lifestyle, while the candle is a symbol of the hope and enlightenment we endeavor to foster in our community.
